Hi, my name is Emily and I am your TinyTalk teacher for South Derby and Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
I have two children aged 6 and 1. Both of my children attended TinyTalk classes, and loved them. My eldest daughter is regularly signing to her sibling, and I love watching their interactions. I believe signing has helped them to become great communicators, helping them to express their wants and needs. The

whole family, especially my eldest daughter, gets very excited when my 1-year-old picks up another sign and uses it in context.
TinyTalk classes are great for so many reasons! They are a fun way to bond and communicate with your baby, you get social time to speak to and interact with other parents and you and your baby get time to play. They are also educational; we use British Sign Language (BSL) signs which is helpful if you are wanting to learn a new skill. We even provide a drink and biscuits.
The classes are 1 hour long and split into two sections. The first half hour is for signing, singing and sensory activities and the second half is dedicated to social time, where we provide drinks, biscuits and toys for the children to play with. This social time is a great way to meet other parents/ grandparents/ carers etc..
