/> I'm a qualified primary school teacher with experience working in mainstream and special needs settings. I have a BA Hons Deaf Studies Degree and my Level 3 British Sign Language qualification . I've worked as a Communication Support Worker supporting Deaf children and adults in Primary Schools and FE Colleges.

I started signing with my daughter from birth and was surprised by how quickly she was able to recognise and react to a sign and then over time as her hand control developed, she started signing herself which was incredible! To be able to share so much with us at that pre verbal stage, not only the things that she wanted but also able to comment on things around her. By 18 months Millie was using 150 signs! She is a very confident communicator and still uses lots of signs to compliment speech, she can also have simple signed conversations with my Deaf friends which is amazing!

TinyTalk Baby Signing classes, suitable from birth, are a fun and relaxed hour long singing to well-known nursery rhymes and actions songs, using BSL signs. The weekly sensory activities (including scarves, bubbles and much more) are designed to encourage babies development and help promote early communication. Social time follows: playtime for the babies (toys provided) and chat time for the grown ups (refreshments provided). The grown ups love the hot drink that's made for them, as well as the chocolate biscuits that are available! Social time is a great way to meet like minded grown ups and make friends.

Our Toddler Talking classes (suitable for the independent walkers approx 18mths +) are great fun with lots of action songs, books, games, even a parachute! We work on speech development as well as listening skills, social skills, co-ordination, sharing and turn taking.
***NEWBORN COMMUNICATION CLASSES***

A lovely, calm 6 week course for new parents and their babies (up to 12 weeks at the start of the course) Learning all about your babies first communication cues and a gentle introduction into signing with your baby.
