Hi, I'm Sarah and I run TinyTalk baby and Toddler sign classes in the Bromsgrove and Redditch areas.
'In-Person' class still allow a bit of space between families, we all like a bit of leg room!
Why do I love signing? and why should you try a class?
I’ve always been interested in sign language and in 2010 obtained my BSL level one Qualification.

I’ve always been interested in sign language and in 2010 obtained my BSL level one Qualification.
When my daughter was born
in February 2018, I looked for baby classes to take her to, to meet new mums and help Sadie’s early development, and that’s when I found TinyTalk as they use BSL signs.
Sadie was 4.5months old when we attended our first TinyTalk baby class and loved it.
She did her first ‘recognisable’ sign of *GET UP* when she was 9 months old and at 21months she reached 100 signs. Aged 5yrs, she knows over 450 signs (I've lost count!).
Using signs really benefitted us as a whole family when Sadie was younger, she could easily communicate when she was 'tired', wanted to go to 'bed', as well as communicating when she wanted a 'drink', an 'orange' or a 'biscuit'! Now she is older she regularly signs alongside speaking. It's fascinating to watch.
I was so passionate about using signs and the advantages of it, that I decided to become a TinyTalk teacher when the opportunity arose.
TinyTalk is for ALL the family, and my mum and fiancé would often attend baby classes with myself and Sadie when they could.
Using signs helps break down barriers, aids communication and prevent frustrations, for both the child and parent/carers.
TinyTalk baby classes are suitable from birth to about 18 months.
Venue 'In-Person' classes are 60 minutes long, consisting of signs, songs (nursery rhymes and children’s songs, that you can then repeat at home) and sensory activities, all of which incorporate signs.
TinyTalk toddler classes are suitable form about 18months/2yrs to 4years.
Classes are more physical and interactive to suit developing minds. They follow a format to help build toddlers' speech development, confidence and social skills using familiar TinyTalk action songs, stories and props. They will learn a wider range of BSL signs and concepts such as counting and colours through fun language games that make communicating fun.
All classes end with 30 mins of 'social time', refreshments and children can 'play' and mums can chat. Please be respectful of other peoples personal space. Masks may be worn by individuals during classes if they wish. (Should restrictions return then classes will be adapted)
I also run sessions in Pre-Schools/Nurseries: So get in touch if you'd like a weekly TinyTalk session in your educational setting.
