Becky Jackman

Hi my name is Becky, I am your tiny talk teacher for Northwich, Knutsford and Tarporley, Cheshire.

I have always had a love of language and communication, both verbal and non verbal.
I stumbled across tiny talk accidentally with my first baby and had signed up for my first term weeks before she was old enough to do it.
I personally found the community and relaxed safe space within the classes invaluable as

a first time mum, creating a support network in this new, crazy, sometimes overwhelming world. But then as we diligently learned the signs and then she quite quickly started to actually use them, this whole new world opened up. She was able to communicate her needs and I could respond to them............. Our bond flourished. Even once she started talking I found if she was upset, frustrated or angry she would resort to signs ( mostly through the tears of being 2). She still remembers and uses them now at seven years old, and loves to use them with her baby brother who has followed in her footsteps.

So when the opportunity arose to become a tiny talk teacher, I relished the opportunity to pass this experience onto other families and facilitate their baby signing journey.

I love baby signing because:It gives the babies and toddlers a way to communicate before they have all the words to describe their world, wants and needs.

Meet my Mini Teacher, Jenny Fraser

Hello and welcome to TinyTalk in mid Cheshire. I’m Jenny, your local TinyTalk teacher (BSL Level 1) and mum to Mhairi and Lachlan.
Finding a TinyTalk class was a revelation to me. I had started some baby signing with my son, Lachlan at home, but didn’t really know if I was doing it right! He loved music so using songs at TinyTalk to teach the signs was perfect for him and his signing came on rapidly. At 14 months he had a signing vocabulary of over 50 signs! Not only could he tell me his basic needs (food, milk etc)but I got a unique insight into what HE was seeing - a real window into his mind! I enjoyed it so much and experienced so many benefits of being able to communicate with my son that I started my own baby sign classes so I could share the rewards with others. I now get such a buzz from watching other babies develop and learn new signs and their families realising just how much their babies have to say!!
