TinyTalk Worcester City and Worcestershire West

2 years old she graduated from TinyTalk with around 100 signs and a huge spoken vocabulary that I'm certain has been encouraged by all the signing and singing we do as a result of TinyTalk.

I first found out about TinyTalk classes during pregnancy from a social prescriber – literally someone who “prescribes” social activities to combat loneliness and mental health issues. I was referred to them by the doctor as part of treatment for anxiety and depression, which I've been dealing with on and off since I was a teenager. Mid-pregnancy, I started to worry a lot that I would become socially isolated after having a baby, hence the referral to the social prescriber. She told me about Mollie running the TinyTalk classes in Droitwich, and I finally plucked up the courage to sign up 3 months in to new-motherhood. Well, I feel now that I cannot thank both these ladies enough. The social prescriber for telling me about TinyTalk, and Mollie, for running the classes! The social aspect and supportive atmosphere of TinyTalk have been a lifeline for me, especially during those difficult first few months of motherhood, and I've made lifelong friends through the classes.

I thought a lot about becoming a TinyTalk teacher – for over a year in fact, before finally taking the leap and actually signing up! I'm deeply motivated to give something back to a cause that's been so life changing for me. I feel truly privileged to be writing this right now, knowing that soon, I could be helping you and your baby connect with one another through signs and songs, and I could be serving you tea and biscuits during the social half of the session while you make those vital connections with other parents. One thing that really helped me decide to become a TinyTalk teacher was someone saying to me, “you're always smiling when you talk about TinyTalk”, and I will feel truly fulfilled if I can share this joy with you and your babies!
